gift collection page? Empty gift collection page?

Post  ycul Sat Apr 07, 2012 1:44 pm

The page you open that shows the gifts people send you, can you leave those gifts in there indefinitely (mostly the items that charge collections) or do you have to move them to your collection area? Asking because I don't want to max out my charging items, Then when need more I have to start all over. And things like bows and kleins and boxes are used alot. Especially in the larger amounts in the higher collections.

You may leave them there indefinitely, but people have lost them if the game crashes while on that page.

You can hold a large amount of charge items (I've seen thousands), so it's okay to get all your items from the Gift page.

You are sure? There is no limit to gifts received? Because I read something (somewhere.. don't ask) like that...
But I never got  a "your friends gift box is full- he is a happy Person already"- Message myself, so... you might be right.
It IS irritating though, that the line "Gifts received from your friends" stands right in front of the "sent"-counter. Which is what set me up initially.

Other than that - in the beginning I thought it prudent to leave things in my "inbox" for a while, so I could gift the same items on the wall. I was never sure, whether it would be taken from my inventory otherwise. But obviously that is not what's happening (other than eastereggs)

I often keep my presents in the received box because I don't want to max out the items in my inventory and not be able to ask for more. The most of one item needed to charge a collection is 10. If I have 10, I have to wait until I charge a bunch of collections to get the number below the 10 (or whatever the max amt is for that charger) before I can request friends to send me more. I made that mistake early on, collecting all my gifts and then realizing I can't request more on either my wish list or via gift requests.

Even when people send random gifts they usually aren't the möbius bows or yellow boxes, etc that you use a lot. I look at the quantity of those items on my friend's wall before I gift the friend (unless they've asked me for something specifically). It takes a little longer to check their supply of the basics, but worth it b/c I get thank yous and extra gifts!:-).

This is what I do as well. I try and keep my friends list right around 50 and then every night I gift from my wall first and if the gift they are requesting is also on my gift list, I send them the same thing from there so they get 2 of the same thing. For those who don't request gifts on my wall, I visit each one and look at their collections page to see what item they need the most and then I send them that. It takes me a while but I figure if I am going to send someone a gift, I might as well send them something they need. I really like being able to gift the easter cakes right now to those who have tons of inventory and don't seem to need anything.

Ahh, I see the strategy. I never thought of doing that.

I've had probably close to 100 gifts before. I have never seen any message stating that I or a friend have too many unclaimed gifts.

This is not a definitive answer, just my own experience.

I tried to save all my mystery gifts until the last update which was supposed to fix the empty box bug. I'm sure I had a couple hundred all saved up. Never experienced any problem or reports from my friends.

On the other hand, I don't really see the point of "saving" all your charge items if you plan things right. If you have a decent amount of friends you should ask them all for one of the charge items you're out of that day. Accept them all, and you'll end up getting say 100. Then, the next day do that for the next item you're out of. You'll end up with stockpiles of your needed items and you only have to do it once. Then, with all the "incidental" items you'll get throughout the days, you'll find you rarely ever run out. I don't think I've requested a mobius bow, klein, or crate in months.
