Secret Containers

I just unlocked Room 51 (for a lot of coins I might add...) but I haven't been able to explore it because I haven't found any secret containers yet. Do you have to banish things in order to get them or are they dropped from rooms? Also, after 7 days do you still need to pay them?

ps. I no longer need scrolls, bullets, or seeds, but they still drop from rooms. Is there anything I can do with them now? Is there any way to gift them?

The last 4 rooms always require items, as far as I know.

You can get those containers from banishing alien-type monsters outside your manor. If there is another way to get them, I would love to know too.

Which ones are the last 4 rooms? I know the library always requires Runestones...

I've looked at the alien things around people's manors, but I never have the item required to banish them. Do you get those from the Laboratory? I haven't gotten enough air conditioners to open that room either. I just feel like I'm stuck at the moment and don't know how to progress

They all require items to search the rooms.

If you downloaded the update (which includes the St. Patrick Day quests), the alien containers are sometimes given to you if you visit friend's manors for the reputation bonuses (which usually includes at least 50 xp, 100 coins, and 5 runestones per neighbour).

I'm also getting batteries when I do my daily visit.

At what level did you stop needing scrolls? Is it base on player level or room level?

Not a definitive answer but I thought it was 7 days after unlocking the room.

Secret containers are so rare, Room 51 is proving just as impenetrable as the real Area 51.

Have a look in your achievements, some reward with detective chests which contain 500 of each item. Also check collections which have room keys as a reward and put the coll items on you wishlist

I am not understanding the room keys point within your second suggestion. Can you please expand for the hard of understanding!?

At the right side have an Achievements button, there are 32 Achievements & each have 5 state.
When achieved the state will get different award, sometimes tools, weapons, charms, and chests.

There are weapons/ keys/ charms/ collections/ chests (keys can up to 500 numbers)

Keys to enter rooms, runestones, batteries, containers, shells, corals and seeds. The other rooms that need keys are free to enter 7 days after unlocking. Ie bullets

Some collections have for instance 30 seeds or 40 containers as part of the reward for charging them.

I am with you both now. Thanks. I didn't realise the term keys applied to runestones, corals etc. I wish containers were rewards for more of the collections. Achievements-wise, I am working towards some chests, but boy oh boy, it's painstaking.

I'm pretty sure I've gotten most of my containers as rewards for visiting friends.

It requires Expert mastery level, rather than a fixed number of days, for free entry to the rooms that eventually become free.

Yes, if you use the turtle of luck charm while collecting your gifts for visiting your friends the drop rate for containers and cells (batteries) to get into the laboratory improves markedly.

As per the spreadsheet, you can get 20 containers from collection #52, and 30 containers from collection #88.

The spreadsheet also tells you which collections give keys for the other rooms, as well as, all the different charms, foods, etc. You can view a PDF version online or download a Mac or PC version for your own uses.

Using a turtle (never tried without it). Octopii give containers, you need the weapon and 50 strength points per banish.
