    Lover's Ikebana Empty Lover's Ikebana

Post  engineer Wed Mar 07, 2012 11:55 am

I've had the Lover's Ikebana quest for forever, and I feel like I can't progress without completing it. Does the ikebana drop from any of the rooms, or do you need to trade with friends in order to finish it? I feel like everyone is trying to get 10 of them, so it may be hard to find friends to trade with! Thanks for the help guys.

Japanese garden drops it on expert level, I believe. I have gotten two.

Most people just trade for them.

Thanks. I guess I'm not on expert level there yet. I'm wary about trading now until the connection issues are fixed because I've had some items go missing. Maybe in the next update things will be better!

Even on Expert level, the drop rate for Lover's Ikebana is low. I believe I had about +25% drop rate in the room when it dropped.

The Lovers Ikebana is not taken when the quest is complete, so most people loan them out to friends to complete the quest and then return them. As collecting ten would take forever!

I've also had this quest for ages, and haven't found a single one. Good to know that I need to get to expert level; guess I'll focus on that room for the next while.

I decided to focus on this quest yesterday.
I mailed about 40 people asking to borrow their ikebana.

About 20 friends sent it to me. I guess people realize it's a pain-in-the-ass quest and will be willing to help.

I did the same thing and wound up with way more ikebanas than I needed too. I think people are generous for this quest! For the people who've yet to complete it--just send out a message to some of your friends and you'll be amazed how quick you can get it done. Smile

I took everyone's advice and asked about 10-15 people to lend me the Ikebana (I may have to ask more people). I'll let you know how it goes!

Yeah my problem may have been that I usually ask way more people thinking that only a few of them will gift. The other problem is that people don't check your collection or ask before they gift. But, I guess too many is better than too few!

I'm almost there...I have 7 Ikebanas, 1 more promised, so I just need to hunt down 2 more to borrow! A lot of my friends on there either don't have one, or don't appear to speak English, so it has been slow-going.

Just sent out my requests. I am running out of tasks to complete! Only have 8 running right now and 4 are for charging Africa room collections. Not doing that while they are still buggy. Hopefully completing this will give me something else to do. Keeping fingers and toes crossed! Very Happy

Good luck! I was finally able to complete the quest. I'm just so happy that I don't have to look at it anymore haha I don't have any Ikebanas of my own otherwise I'd send you one.

so just to confirm, the quest does not remove the lover's ikebana from inventory. Is this correct? I have this quest still. I am hesitant to ask other to borrow theit ikebana for fear of losing it in transfer. I seem to lose a lot of gifts due to connection issues.

    Yes, that is correct.

Just make sure you keep track of who's ikebana you borrow. Return them as soon as you can when you are done. Just out of respect for those who lent me their ikebana, I attempted to finish the quest as quickly as I can and managed to do so after 2-3 hours. I sent back the ikebana's within a few hours of borrowing them.

Here is a dumb question - in order to ask friends for the lover's ikebana, do I literally have to go o their wall and ask for it?

    Thanks!

Yes. Visit your higher level friends. Look at their collection. If they have an ikebana, just leave a note on their wall asking to borrow it. Let them know that you are asking a lot of people so you should have enough soon, and that you'll return them right after you are finished.

If they have more than 1, they'll be more likely to lend you one.

Send out 20-30 requests and you'll finish the quest in a few hours.

Hi Brad. You have to be proactive about it. It is best for you to send out wall requests. If you spend an hour looking through friends' collections and sending out wall requests asking for the ikebana to borrow, in 2 hours time you'll probably get them all.

Asking other to initiate isn't as effective.
