when i exchange The Golden Knight with the elder Gypsy for the dark horse, the horse disappears, & doesnt go to my collection why and what should i do?

I think the Elder Gypsy is only there to help you with a quest, where you get the Dark Steed and 30 golden horseshoes. I don't know if that Dark Steed is used for anything else.
You'll find the Dark Steed in your inventory somewhere, not in the collections.

No, he gives you the dark horse collection item. It should show up in your collections, and has for me in the past. I'm not sure if it gets taken as part of the quest the first time around, and that may be the OP's problem. It should be under the tab with the sack on it (the last one in your inventory). That's where I find mine. That is correct. And I believe it is taken away at some point.

When you complete the quest the horse is taken but if subsequently you trade with the elder gypsy the horse continues to sit in your inventory.
