I don't if anyone else has gotten this, but sometimes when I would banish the ninjas I would get rewarded with them. Does anyone know what that is about?

I once read a comment on a friend's wall that you usually lose an item every time the old shoe showed up! I am not sure t never managed to count all my items. It's maybe worth checking if you have strong memory and know exactly what you have!!

Did all those old boots that were being collected all this time show up in your inventory after you upgraded?
I know I'll find out later, but right now the iTunes store isn't letting me download anything....server time out or something....

Yes. After the update, 15 shoes appeared in my inventory though I didn't get any after the update was applied.

Yes I got 35 old shoes. Glad that I did not lose that much of items and that was not correct

Yes. They will appear when you get that St Patrick's Day quest.
