So, where do players find the rare items for Mermaid's Bathtub? They are not shown in any of the room items.

I only remember receiving items for that collection through quests early in the game

I have no idea how others get those items, but I was able to trade for them with people who already have them.

I always assumed they're in the oceanic room once you hit expert level. (I'm not there yet.) Not so, apparently?

Huh. Then how the heck DO People get them? I have to admit that I'm getting disheartened at the number of cheaters out there as time goes on.

I'm not sure. Ever since I started playing, I don't think I've seen a way for getting them. Perhaps it is from a room at expert level, or maybe a quest that we no longer have access to?
When in doubt, you can always trade for rare items. My first Mermaid Bathtub item was from trading Daikoku, which is pretty rare (at the time).

Good point! The purchased chests give random Collection items. (Did you get any holiday items from the chests?)

I just wanted to add that last night I did receive one of the mermaid bathtub items from a chest that I received for completing an achievment.
