Island room

I have finished the island quest and wondering if I should hold off on visiting the island room. I have plenty shells, but don't want to use them up and find out later that I should have saved them for a future quest. Currently only have the Selene quest active. Except the "Treasure in the Crypt", "Vampire's gold" and the "Secretive island in the tropics" major quests.
