Okay, a lot of people are ticked bout being invited to battle and the one that invites does not play a weapon. When you start or enter any battle play a weapon. I don't care the value, just play one, because while you are inviting people, if you do not close the room and reopen you will not see the progress. PLEASE PLAY A WEAPON FIRST, that way your friends that want to help can!

Always refresh your room that you are battling in to see progress, I never want to shut anyone out of a battle, but it can happen because the new people joining have an updated version of the battle. To refresh, close the fight and tap on the room to enter.
