Version 1.6 update

Mystery Manor has been updated to version 1.6 - Easter Update.

I'll post new changes here as information comes in.

New Changes:
- Easter Event
- Easter Eggs Collection #79, charge for Chocolate Egg and 10 Easter Cakes

Fixed:
- Friend list page is faster
- Appears as if empty Mystery Gifts issue is fixed (?!)

Impressions:
- Did 15 rooms, got 6 phenomenons... perhaps the chance increased?

Not sure, but I think I just got coins from fulfilling wall requests...

I did not receive any coins from gifting from my Wall. Maybe you opened a Beach Chest from the Wall?

I just updated to version 1.6 on my iPad2. When I opened the game and opened my Wall requests it says..."a friend requested a gift but you must update to the new version". Is anyone else getting this error.

Sounds like the update didn't update properly.

Close out of MM completely and restart your iPad. Check App Store again. If it shows as being updated already, re-open MM.

That's exactly what I did...twice. It is loading a third time right now. Thanks. I'll keep trying.

Since update I have lost an oceanic room quest. Friends list is no better and I'm still getting empty mystery gifts. I have no other quests to complete apart from emerald quest which so far hasn't worked. I'm at level 63 and have a feeling I should have more quests to complete.

You had quests for Oceanic Room? I'm level 59 and didn't have any quests for the Oceanic Room. Still waiting for phenomenon for Neptune quest.

Emerald quest, as far as I know, is still incomplete.

Yes it was on right of screen where news icon is. Only got the quest on Thursday so had completed much of it but spent a fortune on corals!

Some improvements with the new update:

- you now get the proper rewards for Chic on a Beach (turtle of luck!)
- oil cans now drop more frequently after exploring rooms
- the Neptune / Emerald is now attainable (I have several friends who found it after the update)

What about the silver sun with the chic on a beach collection? Did you get that as well?

Yes you receive both the turtle and the silver sun. Not sure how long this will last but when I charged the collection after the update, the charging items were NOT taken away. All remain the same amount including those precious diving masks! Nice surprise.

In the 1.6 update it's now possible to gift easter cakes to your friends.

Open Gifts, Choose a Gift, and select Easter Cake.

Yes, some lucky few have Easter Cake in their free gift list. I do not

Is it my imagination or did this last update do something weird to the Friends list? It seems to have moved everyone around. For example, one friend who I know had been further down the list, like 20 or 21, is now at 4.

Just when I got used to what order everyone was in...

Yes, I think previously, it was sorting the list based on player join date.

Now, it's pretty much random. This is probably one of the reasons why the list loads faster - less processing to do.

I have an ipad and have been unable to update to the new version. I've tried multiple times, and also restarted the iPad and tried again. My first attempt at the game I was at level 23 and same thing happened. Tech support was zero help and I ended up starting over. Any ideas would sure be appreciated! Thanks!

It begins to update, blue waiting bar gets halfway across the MM icon, then about 15 min later still in same position I get a message saying it was unable to update.

Before you update, close out all background apps (hold home button, then hold finger on one of the background apps until X appears, close all apps). Then do a restart.

Then do an update. See if that works.

By the way - which iOS version?

iOS 5.1 and unfortunately after trying your tip I still get a message that reads unable to update at this time. With options to close or retry. Any other ideas that might work? Man 4 days without my game starting withdrawals and I just hope my friends don't delete me

You can try to update through iTunes instead of the App Store:

Essentially, you plug your device to iTunes, then download and install the update from iTunes itself.

Give it a shot.

Well none of the tips worked and I've never even heard back from tech support , so frustrated . Definitely not starting over a third time after getting to level35 again. So unless anyone has any last ditch tips, farewell MM .

Perhaps one last ditch effort (despite the risk) would be to make sure your iPad is fully backed up to iCloud or iTunes ("right-click" iPad in iTunes, select Backup). Once you have it backed up, you can then try to do a complete restore of your iPad (you will lose all Apps and data), then do a restore from iCloud or iTunes.

Or, if you want to be less drastic, just uninstall MM, restart, install new version. If it works, then do a restore of your iPad data.

Again, these are last resort options. You will lose data, so make sure you have everything backed up and know what you are doing.
