Perhaps one last ditch effort (despite the risk) would be to make sure your iPad is fully backed up to iCloud or iTunes ("right-click" iPad in iTunes, select Backup). Once you have it backed up, you can then try to do a complete restore of your iPad (you will lose all Apps and data), then do a restore from iCloud or iTunes.
Or, if you want to be less drastic, just uninstall MM, restart, install new version. If it works, then do a restore of your iPad data.
Again, these are last resort options. You will lose data, so make sure you have everything backed up and know what you are doing.
