Here's my question: I'm doing the legends of Atlantis quest where you have to get maps by expolring rooms and then trade them with the sea farin snatchins to get collection items. I have this done and the next thing is to charge the collection. But I hesitate to do so because I thought I read somewhere that I will eventually need a certain number of each collection items and that once the collection is charged, the maps will not drop as quickly and the seafarin snatchin will go away and I'll have to find him elsewhere. Am I remembering this correctly? Anyone know?

Re: Legends of Atlantis Quest
Well.... I charged that collection to finish the quest and then went onto the next one, which is the collect five of each one and I haven't had a map drop since, which is now two days, so my advice is try and get the collections items before you charge it !!!!!!
Just checked and I've searched over 60 rooms and no map.

Thanks for your advice. I will postpone charging the collection and get back to you as to whether I still have maps after I get a chance to play this afternoon. Again, thanks!

Yeah, if you tap on the picture of the island, you'll see the entrance items needed, which happen to be 5 of each. So, definitely do not charge the collection until you get into the island!!mlle. scarlett wrote:Thanks for your advice. Hi guys,

The pix of the torn up island will appear on the left of the Oceanic Room outside your manor after you have completed a series of quests. Which quests trigger it will depend on where you are in your quests and which branch of quests you are working on.
This is the guide to the Island quests themselves...http://www.mmuff.com/t740-guide-island-quests
If you already have the pirate's brig it will appear below that. Charging the island collections before you get the island quests will not make the picture pop up, in fact, it can hurt you when you do get the quests.
In the meantime, and reiterating what has been said above, it is best to NOT charge collection 83 until you get and complete most of the island quests. SAVE any maps that drop or collect the items, but do NOT charge the collection. Prior to yesterday's update, it was determined that once a collection is charged that the maps for banishing drop less frequently....like almost rarely. You will need to charge Col. 83 many times to get shells to enter the island room....so collect items.
I just updated so I'm not sure if the drop rate has changed, but it is better to be safe than sorry.

TOO LATE!! I thought I'd completed the Atlantean quest forgetting it was the island that generated it And I started charging ready for the 9 of each and now I can't get a map for love nor money (and I'm definitely not spending any!!) what an absolute pain, nothing to do now but wait for the will o the wisp in the cloakroom for Robbo's hat and then It's just boring boring boring - at least I can get the 5 free diamonds at the weekend - whoopee doo!!! They'll go a long way not

Try putting the items you need on your WL. You won't be able to borrow them, since you will have to charge Col. 81 and 82 as a quest, but maybe someone not working on the 9x event would be willing to send you one while you continue to hunt. Good luck!
It is frustrating not having maps drop as frequently as before. I had a ton, thought I was good, charged and then they stopped dropping. GI certainly knows how to torture us!!

Many Thanks Dazza for this information! Because of this, I stock up on Maps to exchange with seafarer.
I charged Adventures of a Castaway, collection 82 first. ( the quest you need to charge after collection 83). After clicking on rooms, maps still appear on list of findable items in rooms. A map can be found with ~3 room search
I charged Legacy of Atlanteans, collection 83 today. Maps are gone from findable items list. In ~30 search, I found 1 map..

Confused
I am completely puzzled as to how some of my friends (not all mega high level) have 400-500 each of the collection items in Coll 83 and have charged it hundreds of times too. How can this be possible when maps drop so infrequently?
I'm at lvl 125 and after using detective chests for Facebook achievement and another that I can't remember the name of, I can't visit the brig, the oceanic room or the island as I don't have enough of the necessary entry items. On top of this, I have no quests and can't see the fun anymore.
Is there a hint that I've missed, if so please could someone PM me?

I've no idea, but have wondered this too! I'm guessing we should not have charged collection 81/2 as I think that's when the maps stopped dropping?
I'm in the same place as you, no quests, no shells, no cannon balls, no gravitons, no seeds...and little motivation! I'm keeping busy stocking up on chargers for the full moon quests as I need to catch up on that because of holidays

Just curious how come some players manage to collect collection 83 each of them in a big amount consider that marine maps are hard to find. I'm sure they know some trick or glitch here. Can someone tell me please.

In addition to just playing a lot, they could be getting them as gifts or buying them for real money.

I doubt if someone want to spend a lot of money for a game. Like, each item they have more than 400 or 500 hundred and don't forget that we need 5 items to charge it.rabrown wrote:In addition to just playing a lot, they could be getting them as gifts or buying them for real money.

I have seen some high level players with 150 or so but none with 400+. Dont know how those players are getting that many. 400+ certainly sounds like a lot to be getting from regular gifting, buying and intensive playing

Re: Legends of Atlantis Quest
Hi,
I just wanted to add that since you can give as many collection 83 items as you want, it is possible for people with generous friends to collect an awful lot of them. In a post-MG world in which most trades are 1-for-1, I have a few super awesome friends (because all of them are awesome ) that will occassionally shower me with #83 items if I have them on my wishlist. I have not aggressively requested those items though. However, I know some people who have religiously sought after those items every day from the beginning and have substantial hoards.
Don't know if that answers your question, but hope it helps.

Atlantis quest
Thought I would add to this because if you haven't gone through the island quests trying to get your head round what your supposed to do can be a little confusing:
You will initially get the postcard in torn bits on the left hand-side of the screen underneath the pirate brig. Once you've found all the pieces you will then see it sellotaped together and it will ask you to collect glue, brushes etc. once you have found all the items the postcard will be in one piece with a frame around it. You will then get six quests, five to collect one of each item from collection 83 and the sixth quest to charge it.
At this stage do not charge collection 83. Start collecting the items for collection 83, you will need five of each. When you have five of each press the island and charge it, it does not take your collection items away. You will also have completed the five quests for the items which it will take away. Your island will now be open and you can start searching it. You do not need to charge collection 83 to open the island.
I have still got the quest to charge collection 83 on my wall and haven't completed it yet therefore I still have island maps dropping from each room so I can save them to keep searching the island again and again.
I'm not sure if not completing the quest to charge collection 83 will hinder my progress in the future, maybe someone can tell me if it will, anyway it's working for me at the moment.
Hope this helps somebody
