New Update - Collection Charging Problems

I'm on an ipad1 (I know, problematic at times with this game) but have been getting on fine thus far with this game.

But with yesterday's update, every time I try to charge a collection, the game crashes.

I've tried hard restarting the app; all other apps are closed; etc.

Is anyone else having this problem? Is there any solution?

I'm also unable to pick up gifts or request them - crashes every time.

I'm level 82 and would hate for this to be the end of my gameplay.

I emailed them, but don't have much hope for a solution.

I was able to charge items after last update but this one from 10/30 will not let me update even after I reboot my iPad. I do have the ipad1

Same issue here. Can't charge. Full moon didn't show up this time. Have rebooted and emailed GI. Very frustrated!,,,
