How do I use my inventory items... For instance: I have 9 containers but can't use to go in room 51 (it prompts me to buy them); and I have a pop gun for the snatchin but it says I don't when I click on him.

For entering Room 51 you must have 10 containers. Buy one more and you can enter.
The pop gun is for banishing not all, but a specific snatchin (don't know which one, but when you push on in in the Inventory it shows which one).
