    Wall Requests? Empty Wall Requests?

    Post  karen_ni Wed Apr 11, 2012 3:36 pm

I have about 50 friends and only a few of them send me requests for gifts on my wall. Is there a reason why someone wouldn't want to send a wall request for a gift? You could potentially receive 2 gifts a day from someone by doing so. Am I missing something?

    Laziness and time.

Personally, I only send wall requests when I am really in need of charge items, which isn't often.

That makes sense as far as not needing items. I only had a couple of friends that I played with until about 10 days ago so I have almost no inventory. I'm now trying to build it up. I am wondering though if people just don't realize you can request things?

I think you're right. Every time I think someone isn't active anymore because they are at a low level and never request items, I am proven wrong when I visit and see that they have almost zero energy (but full strength). I found this game a little confusing at first, and I think it is easy to not realize that certain actions are available,

I agree, up until a couple of weeks ago, I had no clue that you gained anything by visiting other people and I only had a couple of "friends" (family members). I also didn't know you could request things. It took me a while but I am glad I finally figured it out.

Just so I understand - you can only request items that charge collections - you can't request collection items (e.g., a gypsy whip) on a wall.

    Do I understand this correctly?

Correct Smile Also, there is a thread in the forum somewhere about people requesting regular collection items on walls. From my understanding (although it hasnt happened to me), if you see anyone requesting a non-charging item, they are using a cheat that will "steal" the item and they should be reported.

Players can request a completed collection item the first time they open certain rooms, and it is not a cheat. If you opt to gift the item to them, it will take it from your inventory. This is intended to happen in the game, and there would be no reason to report someone for this.

Now you can ask a friend for a completed collection item. To do that, open a room, for example Hunting room, in an appeared offer window choose one of 5 collection items you need. Note, that you can do this only when you open the room for the first time!

From support, doesn't seem quite right.

You are right - I had been referring to this thread below, but I hadn't read the new posts, otherwise I would've learned that this is yet another new feature with the last release:

yes.... well. does seem a little bit like "morally cheating" to me? Isn't it a little bit beside the point of the game?
    well. perhaps that's just me.

Wall Requests? Empty Are wall request items free?

Post  Tdp Fri Jun 15, 2012 8:22 pm

If I try to respond to a friend's request on my wall, it sometimes says "you have already sent 50 free items, try tomorrow". Does that mean that the item you send is free for you, i.e. it doesn't come out of your inventory?

Yes requests from your wall are free and don't count toward your 50 gifts per day. While visiting friends or sending gifts stop at 49 and you can still gift from your wall.

I must admit I rarely send wall requests for charging items but made an exception for the spaceship and brig items. Everyone's different I suppose.

I find that Wall requests are an important part of the game and are very helpful.
I built the brig and space ship in a very short time (2-3 days) by help from friends.
I exchange through wall posts a lot everyday regularly Smile

Don't hesitate to ask for requests. Very Happy It's beneficial for both parties. The asker gets the item they need, and the giver gets a mystery gift in return.

Don't worry about appearing needy or pesky - asking and sending wall requests is all part of the cycle in this game. And besides, they are free - giving charging items won't come out of your inventory, and gifting from your wall doesn't count against the daily gift limit.

Also, sending a request saves your friend the trouble of wondering what to give you for the day.

The only rule for wall requests is - do some research first before asking for a request. Know what level can give what item. That way, you don't clutter up someone's wall with requests they can't give, and likewise, you don't waste a request (because you can only send one a day to each person). Wink

That's true. I get at least 70 - 100 requests a day. I find I get given many things from friends and the mystery gifts make up the rest that's why I don't need to request on the wall very often. Ididn't explain too well.

I try and request charge items from as many friends as I can every day. If I am all out of launch buttons I may as well request from everyone who can send them. Ditto anything you need to be at level 99 for. Lots of mystery gifts all round. Wish more would request from me.

I've started doing this too and wish more people would request from me. A good part of the game is social after all. Smile

I try and request an item from every friend, seems pointless having friends if you dont ask for gifts, I get about 100 requests a day as I've just gone over the level 99 mark and suddenly you become more useful !!!

Wall Requests? Empty Do gifts deplete my inventory?

Post  SunnyNana Fri Jul 13, 2012 6:39 pm

I'm still learning this game & keep wondering about sending gifts. If I have an item & it is requested, will I loss it if I send as a gift? For example, if I have one flaming skull & someone asks for one will that leave me with none? Thanks for any help...this is a great site.

If an item is requested through your wall or you gift from your free gift screen, it doesn't come out of your inventory. If you visit a friend and look at their wish list, it will show how many of each item you have. Gifting those does come out of your inventory.

Another tip: if you stop sending your free gifts when the counter says 49, you can still gift from your wall ( otherwise, you get a message that you can only send 50 gifts per day).

Flaming skulls and other charging items are free gifts, they will not come out of your inventory.
