FIXED - Unable to visit friends since update

While crashing often before the update, I was still able to connect to a low level friend and scroll manor to manor at will. After the update, I can't connect to anyone over the level 15, PERIOD. Even scrolling.

Another poster brought up an interesting point. I am using iPad1. My friends with iPad2 seem to be ok but still crash from time to time.

Is everyone with iPad1 suffering from the same problem as me?

I am having the SAME exact problem. I have cut my friend list to 180 and still no use. I also have ipad1. Is this our problem? I really don't want to get a new iPad just to play MM. Lol

I have the same problem since the update. It was always unstable even before the update in that I could visit any friend immediately after restarting the game but the second time visiting friends (from the menu) would almost always crash the game.

Since the update I can only visit very low level players. This is completely killing the game for me.

I too am using an Ipad 1 (16gb) so I suspect that's a common theme. I'd be interested if anyone using any other config is affected. Mine is also jailbroken - could this be a factor? I'm considering becking up and unjailbreaking to see if this would fix the issue but I won't bother if this affects all iPad 1 users.

Are any iPad 1 user not affected by this issue?

I have an iPad1 (16GB) and can only visit to about level 30. I was wondering the same thing so glad you asked. But also makes me worry that if this is device-specific then it might not be temporary. wah.

What version iOS are folks running? I'm still on 4.3.1 and am wondering if updating to 5.1 will help.

For folks who are able to visit friends after the update, it would be helpful if you could post which iPad you're using--before I use this as an excuse to buy a new one

My iOS is completely up to date. 5.1.1. It didn't help me at all. Mine is a 16GB as well.

I'm running 5.0.1 (Jailbroken).

Okay, guess the good news is I don't have to spend Sunday backing up/updating my iPad.

Bad news is I was replying to messages on my wall to let folks know I can't visit and it kept crashing just deleting/posting messages.

Lots of complaints on the iTunes site about not being able to visit friends after last update. Maybe the developers will notice...

I'm on ipad1 and I can't visit anyone no matter the level. Right now I'm lucky if I can get it to load without crashing:(

I'm fully updated and have the 64 and still crashes. I'm gonna try deleting some unused apps and see if it helps

Same situation. Ipad1, no friend visits, and crazy crashing...worse...cannot get the wishlist to update.

I've also been crashing when trying to visit friends. I can go back in and it usually works the second time around. Annoying, but be persistent.

Update wishlist by searching a room after changing your wishlist.

Running iPad 1 with 64gb. Also crashing repeatedly-unable to visit anyone over lvl 12. Think I might steal husband's iPad 2 and check if game works. At this point, I am very sad I can't get my mm fix!

As far as I know - there isn't a solution to this problem at this time.

Let's hope there is a new update out soon.

I'm on an iPad 1 and have the same problems. Contacted GI and sent the info they requested and got the standard reply! I used to play 2 or 3 times a day now I'm down to once just to get gifts and fill gift requests from friends. It's getting boring I hope they release an update to fix it soon as I'm certainly not going to buy an iPad 3!!

agreed. i, too, have an iPad 1. since the update, i cannot visit friends. i tried visiting low level friends, but the game still immediately crashes.
i put a note on my wall for friends, to let them know to ask if they need something. I still find many friends post and ask for a wish list item, or for my help tipping/waking friends.

Hoping this crashing-bug gets sorted soon. I am unable to advance in the neighbor achievements.

Contacted support @ GI, got a reply a week later. Sent them all the info they needed. a lost another week later, I got an email saying that they were 'closing out this ticket'.

Friday, on Facebook, they mentioned that they are working on this exact issue. I have not seen any changes yet

It takes time to troubleshoot issues. I expect an update by the end of the week.

I have a iPad 1 and have problems with visiting friends at all levels. I also have an iPad 3 and have no issues at all. my husband has also an iPad 1 and has the exact same issues cannot connect with friends but has iPad 3 and has no issues whatsoever . We both got new iPad right back in Feb. when we both had issues with that update. We had to start our games from level 1 all over But we're able to gift from our iPad 1 all our collection items that we had. Took forever but worth the change the new iPad 3 works with no glitches whatsoever.

My assumption is that the programmers to the game are gearing the programming for the newer technology and not going backwards... Kind of like for example ... Say you have Microsoft office 2007 you can email a document to some one that has 2010 version and it will be encrypted (you can't read it unless you go into the settings and change the version to 2007) once you have done that you can read the document. , but if you send a email from your 2010 version to the 2007 it can't be read at all ( it can not go backwards) that new programming language is not in the old versions internal instructions so they can not communicate with each other.

If you speak only English can you speak Russian ( as in the case of the makes of this game and a good share of the players )
Without a translator. But in software there is no translator unless its written in the programming.

Have those of you with iPad 1 have better luck? I tried earlier to get into a friend with level 61 and 33 and could not. I'm not sure if update has worked but will give it a few days for more people to update.

Just updated and afraid to say that I've noticed no difference at all. Tried visiting friends ranging from 48 to 287 but all those who had actually updated crashed the game in the same way as before.

Might try a full reset and see if that makes a difference.

EDIT: - That didn't make a difference either!
