Change in Friends style/personalities

I'm getting kinda sad...
After taking a few months off with ipad issues, I came back to this game excited to meet new friends. Since I lost all my other ones when my game crashed, I had to start all over. Now, I know I haven't known these people long, but I really try to prove my loyalty to good friends. I have sent collection items without leaving notes and always wake friends w/o notes.
Anyway, it seems (aside from 4-5 GOOD friends I have), most people don't like trading. And I'm having a hard time if they do, getting them to send me my gift. I hate begging!! People seem more to themselves and not wanting to talk or share. It's very sad!!
I miss all my old friends!!! Wish I could find them!!!

when you gift someone a coll item, take a second to send a note.
1. it makes it much easier for the friend to gift something in return.
2. if you say what you gifted, it can save the next person from gifting a duplicate. (wall lists don't update immediately).

when I get a random collection item from someone without a note, it's tough to crawl through a long friends list to find them. even then, I often have more than one friend with the same name and icon, so I'm never sure if I returned the favor to the right player.

when visiting manors (which was easier before all the Internet issues), I try to check their wall before gifting coll items. sometimes the previous visitor gifted the item I was about to send. so, I pick a different item. also, many folks put notes on their walls about what chargers they need, or which rooms they need tipped the most.

now for the hard truth... every day or two, I get a random item from collections 1-13, that isn't on my wish list and is something I already have tons of. I don't return favors on these gifts. (for example, I already have 344 pterodactyl wings. if you send me one more, I'll just ignore it.). I don't mind the occasion request for help, and I understand that newer players may not have the items on my wishlist... and that is okay. I usually have a bow, sash, vase or crate on my list just for that reason. (because I eventually run out of those, no matter how many I get).
