Gift request to friend

I sent a gift request to a friend and when I checked their wall, it wasn't there, and the friend doesn't show up in the Ask a Friends list now because I've already asked them!

Has anyone else experienced this? I must say it's a little frustrating because they are one of only two friends that I know have unlocked the A/C, which I'm desperate for right now (among the other items to get into the lab).

Hi Trekker. I believe with the last update, friends' data is not updated regularly. I noticed their inventory and wishlist only updates a few times a day. It used to update every time you visited them. This was probably done to lessen the load on the servers (haven't seen many connection issues lately).

The wall probably doesn't update in real time either. They probably do see the message on their wall.

Can confirm there is a definite delay in update of several hours in my case. Trying to make a trade, a friend said she had already received what was offered by me, but it was still on her wish list and not shown in her collection. She told me she had already removed it from her wish list, yet I still saw it.

Must be why I was still getting some a/cs after I removed them from my wish list.

Btw some advice about getting a/cs....check your friend's walls. I post a note on my own wall telling people what hard-to-get items I have available to gift. This notice from me stays at the top of my wall and is in yellow, so anyone viewing the wall will always see it. I found several friends who had done the same. That is how I figured out more people I could ask. Found 3 additional people that way.

Wish we all left messages for our friends telling if we are willing to trade and/or we have unlocked particular gifts..... :

After you make changes to your wish list, go and explore a room. This will update your wish list and inventory for everyone to see.

That's interesting. I didn't know this. Now, I wonder if there are any other ways to update our data (I'm skimpy with energy usage).

Just explore the cheapest rooms - Living Room (30 energy) or Kitchen (35 energy). For me, it's worth it spending 30 energy, so that my friends can send me what I need, rather than something I already have 50 of.

You can also close the game and reload it. That will do the trick.
