Collecting Parts Quest

Hi,

I have finished the neptune & emerald quests and now I have this "Collecting Parts Quest". I need to collect 15 each of Super Adhesive Tape, Super sensitive Antenna, & Quantum Accumulator.

To get these items, I need to trade with Robots (not all robots gave each item):

Vacuum Robots gives Quantum Accumulator (5 oilcans needed)
Television Robots gives Super sensitive Antenna (10 oilcans/10 energy needed)
Musical Robots gives Super Adhesive Tape (15 oilcans/15 energy needed)

15 each means I need (15x(5+10+15))=450 oilcans
[I must add that buying the parts (1 diamond each) are a lot cheaper than buying oilcans to trade with the robots].

I've seen other thread about oilcans needed to banish the professor's robots for the recorder quest.
Can someone recall if the recorder quest comes after this collecting parts quest? Or is it possible that the recorder quest comes while this quest is still on? It would be better to have both quests at the same time as it means I don't need more than 450 oilcans. If the recorder one comes only after this collecting parts quest, that means I need (another) 300 oilcans to finish the quests!

I wonder how many diamonds do we really need to finish every quests... I don't use it a lot, but some quests (like getting sails as I need someone with level 199 to get the sails) are quite impossible to finish.

If I remember correctly, I ended up buying all the parts for the collecting parts quest, because they just weren't dropping.

The next quest, A Strange Recording, is the one where you need to banish 10 each of the robots. Luckily I started out with 35 oil cans in my inventory but I did end up buying the rest so I could banish them all.

I remember the same I'm afraid, I was looking for friends to add in this game and this is how I found this site. I was trying to complete these tasks and the synthesizer was a god send !!! So glad I stopped by......

I just caved in and Used diamonds to buy the parts for this quest. I just don't have the patience to wait a decade for all the oil cans to drop. Completing this quest triggered the "jack of all trades" quest...requires 15 drunken joe whiskey, 15 pliers, & 15 tool sets. Hmm, that will teach me not to charge collections when I'm bored!

Anyone got any pliers to spare? I could use a few, or 13! Lol

I have finished the quest and have had the quest you mentioned afterwards. I've found the pliers easily with the turtle on. I remembered going to rooms randomly to attract the phenomena. I think I found the pliers easily when I explored rooms with them in.

Unfortunately the pliers stopped dropping after the quest.

I used turtle today to find all the pliers. YEAH!!!

I found the whiskey in the fortune teller room and the pliers in the lab, with every search.
