Opening the laboratory

Where do I get the items needed to open the lab? It seems that I can gift duct tape, but I don't have enough myself. . Am I going to need to ask friends to gift me these items or will I find them on my own (before the Mayan calendar ends)?

Send item requests to your friends. You'll get the items in no time. It helps to know what levels are needed to gift those items. (ACs are level 99, the rest are all below level 35 I believe).
