Unable to send gifts for 1 day?

I've just got a new popup when trying to respond to gift requests that says "You are not allowed to do more gifts. You will be able to after 1 day."
I've never seen this before and my gift counter is at 15/50. Is this new or has anyone else seen it? How can I avoid that.
What's the point of paying to drop the gift counter with diamonds if this happens anyway?

I have had this once, it is because we all have a maximum of 300 gifts (I believe) in total - this includes your 10 collection, 50 chargers, wall requests and thank you gifts. So I'm guessing you have sent a lot of wall requests and/or ty gifts since your last reset.

Gottcha, had no idea about that limit. I've been playing a lot last few days so that explains it. How sucky!

Do note that the counter to restart collection n chargers gift limit are separate!!! Quite a few time, I wanted to reset collection limit, but click the reset button with 10 diamonds on the collection page!!! Had to spent double of what i intended too!!!
