Where is the mist for the island quests?

I completed the mist quest by borrowing a friend's mist and then returning it. Now that I need the mist to charge the collection though, I can't find it. The guide says it's in Room 51 on Night Mode but when that room is in night mode, it still isn't in the list of findable items from the room. Anywhere else this might be or any tips on finding it? I'm using up all my containers to get in Room 51 and having no luck! Thanks!

The mist and other items for the island collections are gained by exploring the island. It shows on findable items at the detective level. hope that helps!

When I get a quest that says I need a certain phenomena in a room for an item to drop, I ignore that nad look for the room that actually has that item and search it, the item drops easily, usually
